Reporting

I’m a writer and fact-checker from St. Louis, Missouri, currently living in New York.

I started my career as an education and criminal justice reporter for the St. Louis American. After that, I worked as a fact-checker for New York Magazine and The Nation. Right now, I freelance.

Recently, I’ve written about asylum-seekers in Brooklyn, trans kids fleeing Mississippi, political memoir as revisionist history, Jewish anti-war activists, pro-war galas, conspiracy theorists on school boards, and pinball in small-town Illinois, among other things.

My reporting has been recognized with Missouri Press Association and NLGJA awards.

I am also a seasoned researcher. I’ve fact-checked Pulitzer-winning literary criticism, think-tank reports, one Mafia documentary, and too many podcast episodes to count. Outlets I’ve worked with include Grist, Vox, MuckRock, WNYC, and The Wall Street Journal.

I received my BA in history and environmental studies from Wellesley College.
